How to Beat Sierra (August 2022)

Sierra is one of the Team GO Rocket leaders in Pokémon Go that trainers can beat. Her Pokémon are weakest against Electric- and Ground-type attacks.

Sierra, one of the Team GO Rocket leaders, is ready for another challenge in August 2022 from trainers who think they have a chance to beat her in Pokémon GO. Although each of the Team GO Rocket leaders can have different Pokémon on their team from month to month, Sierra’s team in August 2022 is the same as it was during the Team GO Rocket Battle weekend event from July 9, 2022. However, despite the possibility of Sierra using the same lineup of Pokémon, her second and third choices are randomly chosen between one of three Pokémon for each phase. Furthermore, Sierra exclusively uses Shadow Pokémon on her team.

Similar to the battles in July 2022, trainers will have to defeat Sierra in August before they beat Giovanni in Pokémon GO. Of course, Sierra’s Shadow Pokémon put the odds in her favor as they’re stronger in battle than their purified or standard counterparts. Those who manage to defeat her will have the opportunity to catch her Shadow Squirtle, the lead Pokémon of the Team GO Rocket leader’s party. Squirtle is likely the Pokémon that causes the least amount of problems for players during this battle because her remaining two Pokémon are fully-evolved forms.

In addition to Shadow Squirtle, Sierra’s team consists of a Shadow Blaziken, Lapras, or Blastoise for the second member and either Shadow Houndoom, Nidoqueen, or Drapion for the final Pokémon. Unlike Giovanni’s team, players will not have the opportunity to catch a Shadow Pokémon in Pokémon GO from the fully-evolved members of her team. Nonetheless, players can capture Sierra’s Shadow Squirtle after she is defeated, and the Pokémon has a chance of being Shiny.

How To Beat Sierra In Pokémon GO (August 2022)

Sierra’s Squirtle, Blastoise, and Lapras are all weak to Electric-type moves, and her Houndoom, Nidoqueen, Drapion, and Blaziken are all weak against Ground-type attacks. Therefore, trainers should use at least one Electric-type and one Ground-type Pokémon against her. For the third option, players may want to consider bringing in a Water-type Pokémon that can learn either Ground or Electric-type moves as a Water-type Pokémon can resist the attacks of Squirtle, Blastoise, and Lapras in Pokémon GO, as well as any Fire-type attacks from Houndoom and Blaziken.
